Restoring Douglas Mk3 from Argentina
« on: 07 Jan 2013 at 11:49 »
Hello, took m some time, but today i decided to start my post.

Well, my story is funny, two years ago, I was restoring a British bike, Mark Phillips, was the third that restored.
Always buy the parts to someone from around here, one day I went to visit him to buy some parts for the bike, and decided to show that he had a warehouse full of bicycles, motorcycles and other things, all classic.

That day walking in the barn disorder, saw several motorcycles were in poor condition, in one of those moments, I found a bicycle leaning on a bike, to my surprise, I ran the bike in order to appreciate the bike, and the truth is it was love at first sight, there stands a black 1948 MK3 Douglas, but in poor condition, I did not care, I fell in love the same.

From that day I decided to start saving money to buy it, was a little out of my pocket.

Collect money about two years, when I had the money ready, I call for us to start the paperwork, but he said he had sold the bike to two months.
but he would not miss my chance, I started looking on the Internet, asking everywhere, could not find a sale in Cordoba, so look out, several months later, I met someone in Buenos Aires, which had one for sale.

I traveled to see the bike, when I saw her, I said they had had an accident, so I had a few hits.,

The bike have some Frame welds and reinforcements, u will recognize em, those weren´t my choice, it was already done.

Anyway, I was determined to buy, so a month, I was with the truck in Buenos Aires, signing the papers to bring it to me to Cordoba.

today, 4 months ago I'm disarming of the bike, and in armed again after chrome and painted parts.

I leave my Flickr address for those looking to see how it goes, also tell them that if someone is missing, I can take pictures of the parts you need, taking advantage of this all unarmed.

meet me and asking things and asking for advice, thanks!
