2 3/4hp mounting of the tyre pump
« on: 05 Nov 2012 at 14:22 »
HI All

Can anyone help? On the 2 3/4hp in what year did Douglas move the
Pump fittings from the frame to the tank or was it done by model.
As I have fitting on the frame (1919/20 and on a tank(unknown).
Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin
I've just had a look at my 1924 TS which has its original tank. The pump mounting is on the frame.

On my 1913 Model O, the pump in mounted on the left side of the frame tube which runs under the tank. Hope that helps. Gordon.

Hi Gordon/Martin

Thanks for the reply

I have looked though a lot of photos and It seem that all 2 3/4's have the fixing on the frame.
Unless the fitting on my tank were put on by a owner in the past, being easy to solder on the tank instead of the frame?

Regards
Kevin

Hi The pump brackets on my 1911 are on the tank but now i don't know if that is original or not.
I have put them on my new tank as they looked like they were original and i don't have any on the frame

Cheers
Melvin

Hi Melvin
It is correct for the pump brackets to be on top of the petrol tank for the 1911 model but all my later 2.3/4hp models from 1916 onwards to 1925 have the brackets on the left hand side of the frame tube beneath the petrol tank.
