EW350 1926
« on: 15 Jul 2012 at 09:23 »
Hi all,
After a 7 month break due to another build I am back on the EW. I am looking for a useable brake band for the rear wheel. I think they are all the same during this period and that they are reversable too (Iwill bow to superior knowledge on that one).
I am fine with knackered lining as that bit is easy. The one I have is a bit on the tired side and twisted.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks
Andy.
I have made some castellated brake pins, the ones that go into the band to open it, from stainless and will happily do a swap.

Andy,
There are 2 types of prewar brake band - for clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation - but the component parts are the same for both - so it is possible to drive out the pins and reassemble for the opposite direction.
     Regards,
                 Eddie.

Hi Andy,

I am restoring the same EW of the same year. I also miss rear brake, therefore I cannot help/swap. But I am interested in 2 castellated pins. Would you also sell to me? Do you have some double parts?

Regards from Vienna
Erich

Hi Erich,
I will be happy to sell you a pair. I will PM you tommorrow and we can make the arrangements.
Sadly I have no doubles. My rebuild is from a wreck bought by a mate in the 60's for spares so I have either made, begged or bought the bits I needed.
Look out for a PM tommorrow.
Cheers
Andy
