MK 5 Carburettors
« on: 23 Mar 2012 at 10:27 »
Hi All

I am replacing thr throttle cables on my MK 5. Can anyone advise me if there is a preferred procedure for setting up and balancing the carburettors ?

Regards

Paul

Paul,
Presumably the bike was running OK prior to the old cables being removed. If that is the case, and you haven't disturbed the throttle stops - with the new cables fitted, you should only need to adjust their lengths so that both slides lift together.

        Regards,
                      Eddie.

Hi Eddie

Thanks for your advice. I installed the new cables last night and the MK 5 is running fine.

Kind Regards

Paul

Put and icypole stick under both slides at the same time and check they both work by just twisting the throttle of idle
