T6/S6 clutch and brakes
« on: 19 Feb 2012 at 09:25 »
Hi ,just dicovered the douglas motorcycle forum ,brilliant ! I suddenly find my problems are shared by others ! Anyway re the clutch issues I feel that in the 1930s they used cork or similar which was soft and grippy and now the lining materials are super hard and rely on really high spring and or hydralics to gain grip and release etc My rear brake band needs re-lineing is there a material that is available that I can tell the brake specialist to use ie part number ? Also the rear brake plate has a bit missing does anyone have a spare they will sell ? Are the front and rear b plates the same ? What should the ignition timing be? someone told me with modern fuels it would be different or is the figure in the Pitmans book correct?
