Mark 1V cylinder head gaskets
«

Afternoon folks.
My Mark 1V (1950) has been off the road several weeks now . I ordered a pair of cylinder head gaskets from the London Douglas Motor Cycle Owners Club.
They have not arrived and seem to have been "lost in the post". They were the last ones the Club had.
Does anybody have a source I can contact please to buy some or alternatively tell me what kind of material I need to buy to make some. I am reluctant to use copper sheet and am not certain whether the modern liquid gasket is suitable for cyclinder head joints.?
I just want to get out and about on my bike.
Thanks folks
Mick

Mick,
I blew out the cardboard replacement gaskets within the first week. I then cut gaskets out of 1/16 inch sheet aluminum, lightly greased them, and they have been serving without problem in my Mark 3 Sports for over fifteen years.

Mick,
Send me an E mail directly, I think I may have some spares. Do you know how long it will be before the club has some more in stock. Also what did they quote you previously ?
Regards,
Mike
