Douglas fuel tank - SOLD
« on: 20 Mar 2011 at 02:28 »
This fuel tank has been hanging around my shed for years. I have no idea what model it is from (perhaps someone can help), or of its value. It's in basically sound condition and has most of the various attachments (top and underside) in place. No caps, though. If anyone is interested, just let me know. The item is located in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales about 2.5 hours from Sydney, 2 hours from Wollongong and 1.5 hours from Canberra.

I guess if I have no response here I'll put in on ebay in a few weeks.

At A Motor Cycly Swap meet today I had no hesitation in paying $400 for an EW 1926 frame just to secure tank parts on a damaged tank plus headlight brackets and other usable parts.

Your tank is from 2 3/4 models pre 1926 that is TS SW and CW, someone will snap it up for somewhere between $150 and $200.

Sorry bargain hunters but thats my valuation.

regards Alan

Many thanks for the input Alan. I had no idea what it would be worth but hope that someone, somewhere can use it. I'd prefer to see it as part of a restoration project than collecting dust in my shed.

Cheers,
Fraser.
