Hi all
This book concerns Francis Simpson, Technical artist, whose work was familiar to me in the days of my youth when I was a subscriber to The Blue'un. (The Motor Cycle). It was recommended to me by a friend and I understood it to be a book about his life. I have now received my copy and I am more than pleased with it as I had not realised that he was not only a rider of Douglas motorcycles but was employed by Douglas Motors between 1919 and 1921 when he was in charge of their Advertising Department. The book is liberally illustrated by line diagrams, photographs and advertising copy of 2.3/4 and 4hp models with several different versions of sidecars. The book is listed in the VMCC Catalogue or may be obtained direct from the Publisher, Frenchay Village Museum, Begbrook Park, Frenchay, Bristol BS16 1LP.
The ISBN No is 978-0-9560312-1-1.
Amongst those given acknowledgement for information, help and assistance in producing the book are Bill Douglas past President and Frank Dolman President of the London Douglas Motor Cycle Club. Chris.
