For interest, a pic is attached from the August 2009 edition of the Jampot Magazine ( a friend of mine is in the Matchless and AJS Club)
showing Mr Simpson ( the advertising manager for Douglas Motors) riding a Duggy combo.

This photograph of Francis Simpson and Ethel is the frontispiece photo in the book I described "Perfect in Every Part.   Chris.
