EW : New Photos
« on: 08 Apr 2009 at 17:01 »
The EW went for its maiden test ride today and I was able to get some nice photos whilst the sun was out. The engine was running very smoothly and I have started to get used to the unusual features of the Douglas.

The front brake does almost nothing. I've been told to expect this but it does even more 'nothing' than I was expecting. Do I need to investigate or should I be looking for a very friendly MOT man?

When restarting the engine at the top of the cliffs, it fired up fine and then died when I was underway. There was no spark. I started to push it and when the engine was much cooler the sparks came back. The plugs were both a text book sooty brown. When the mag was struggling it was running one one. Does the panel think that the mag should be sent away for a treat?

Dave, the short answer is yes - particularly if it has sat for a long time. Sounds to me like it is only sparking enough when conditions are optimal. A dud magneto is the worst thing !! The photos look great.
