Mark V fitted with Dragonfly engine
« on: 16 May 2009 at 18:47 »
Hi all, i was just wondering how many other Douglas's had been built with this combination?

My Dad bought his Mk V back in 1960 when he was 18yrs old for £10 (£2 a week) and subsequently blew up the engine in 1965.

A Dragonfly unit was "purchased" from a company called "Roots" here in Coventry UK and Dad set about fitting it.

I understand it wasn't an easy job, but its often made me wonder how many other Douglas's had this modification?

The bike was handed to me by my Dad in 2007 and is being ridden on every dry day i get chance (although the festival of 1000 bikes last year was very wet)

I'm riding it at the festival of 1000 bikes for the 3rd time in a row this year, its such a nice ride and it screams along the straights nicely.
