Carby for 1924 TS
« on: 08 Mar 2009 at 05:19 »
Can someone tell me what model carby will go with the 1924 TS please?
Amal or Amac and what model?
Is it also possible that export models had different carbs to British models?

As far as I am aware it is usually an AMAC - depends on which inlet manifold you have as to which one - updraft or sidedraft

Thanks. I don't even have a manifold yet, but I know where I can possibly borrow one.

Progress on the frame. It has been blasted and has exposed multiple holes. It's now in an engineering shop having the holes repaired.

I assume the back bars that support the footrests, should be flat, and not bent up like mine?

Thanks for that. Should the front ones be longer? Have extensions?

Hi Stephen
It depends upon which model you wish to restore it to. If you want footboards then extension tubes may be fitted. If you require footrests on the rear cross tube then domed tube end finishers held in Pre-war club spares by The London Douglas MCC are simply pushed into the ends of the small extensions from the bottom front frame lug. Chris.

Thanks Chis. I used to be a member back in the 1990's. Sounds like I should join again.
