Douglas Patents of Note 12

Improvements in Transmission Shock Absorbers.

Patents of Note 12
Patent No.: 242,413
Application: Oct. 13, 1924
Complete: Jul. 11, 1925
Accepted: Nov. 12, 1925

Anyone that messes about with Douglases of the mid-twenties and thirties will recognize this design.  Patented by Douglas Motors and L.S. Bailey, General Manager. The illustration shows it literally as they used it, c-spanner nut and all, used in conjunction with the flywheel clutch.  With simpler drilled holes rather than spokes, or as a solid disk, it would be a signature feature to the end of pre-war production.
