1926 EW 350 transfers
« on: 07 Feb 2008 at 01:51 »
Hi all,

can anybody confirm the correct transfers and their positions on 1926 EW 350? So far I found out the following:
1) Douglas in white with gold edges on the petrol tank.
2) Scotsman holding engine in colors on the head stock.
3) Round transfer with Scotsman on the silver/grey background with gold edge on the chain case.
4) Scotsman holding engine standing on the "RegT Trademark 393869" in gold on the rear mudguard.
5) Warning to use clutch when changing gears on the upper frame tube.
I also saw transfer 4 on the headstock instead of on the mudguard.
Can anyone provide the correct dimensions for painting the petrol tank (blue fields and pinstriping)?

Besides that I am searching for some parts for ongoing restoration of my 1926 EW 350. I just placed the add in the parts wanted section.
If anybody has spare piston rings (matching standard cast iron pistons), kickstart lever, quadrant and ratchet pinion (early RG gearbox) and front mudguard, let me know please.

Kind regards,
Jan

When I was researching for the transger for my 26 EW I came up with exactly the list you have made. The LDMCC can supply them although the cross bar transfer can be supplied by the VMCC. I can't tell you dimensions for the tank painting as this was already done on mine. I don't know how things worked in the Douglas factory but in the Ariel factory the position of transfers and pin stripes was different on every machine and would depend upon how many pints the painter had necked at lunch. It's probably best to look at a lot of photos of other EWs and get a feel for what it should look like.

Thanks, Dave.
I have a rough idea about the paint dimensions from what I could see on my bike before the restoration or somewhere on the web.
I visited your website several times already, searching for the details. Nice site, indeed.
