At the last Committee meeting of the London Douglas Motor Cycle Club, a review of the Centenary Year of the Douglas concluded that it had been very successful with all events, usual and special, having been very well supported.
Publicity generated has been exceptional leading to a large increase in membership now totaling over 1200.
The Committee wishes to express its gratitude for the magnificent efforts of all those contributing to its success with special thanks to overseas members who have generated articles in their own country's magazines and organised special activities.
In particular The Committee wishes to record its grateful thanks to our Australian friends for their exceptional efforts in organising the Australian Douglas Centenary Rally, by any measure, a resounding success. Sincere thanks to the organising committee comprising Ian Richardson, Alwyn Hunt, Graeme Gullick and Peter Hunt. Thanks also to their supporting cast of wives and motorcycle club members who provided marshalling and recovery services.
The LDMCC Committee is delighted that an outcome of this event was the decision that further Douglas Rallies should be held in Australia and wishes Peter Davey all the best in his responsibility for the 2nd National Rally to be held in September 2008.   Chris.
