Hi,
Don't know about a Murray Rainey in connection with Douglas dirt track racing but one Murray Rainey of very small stature was certainly into motor sport as witnessed HERE. Maybe one and the same?

I am certain that Murray Rainey is the father of Joy Rainey who is currently a journalist and sporting motorist of some note. She writes for the Telegraph Motoring Supplement during and upon completion of quite extraordinary events. Most recent were complete restoration, preparation and entry of a Morris Minor entered into a major International Rally and purchase, preparing and taking part in the pre 1905 veteran car run from London to Brighton. Previously she restored a famous racing/hill climb car used by her father, Joy is also of very small stature. She regularly attends well known motoring events including Motorcycle activities such as the VMCC Founder's Day. Chris.
