DRAGON FLY ENGINES

I DID NOTICE THAT SOME DRAGON FLY ENGINES WERE NOT POLISHED NEVER SEEN A BLACK/SILVER ONE NOTICED TWO IN THE HARROW AREA SOMEYEARS
AGO WAS THIS BECAUSE THEY WERE ORDERED AS SUCH OR THE BATCH SOLD
BY PRIDE '@ CLARKE WHEN THEY PURCHASED THE FACTORY STOCK OF DRAGON
FLY,S IN 1957 I ASSUMED ALL FLY,S HAD POLISHED ENGINES  PERHAPS I SHOW MY STUPIDITY NEVER THE LESS ANY ONE KNOW WHY.

I may be corrected by those who bought their Dragonfly new and I know two of these but I believe that the only parts that were polished originally were the rocker covers, the alternator cover (not certain), the shock absorber cover over the gearbox sprocket and the gear selector plate on the gearbox. I am certain that the crankcases, gearbox casing and the cover over the distributor were left as cast.  Chris.
