Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Does anyone have information about the spoke lengths for this machine please. I have the part numbers but the lengths would be helpful. Many thanks.
Peter

Edit 09/01/2007...
Peter also requires the wheels (front and back) offset dimensions if any one can provide this information. The information is required urgently as Peter wishes to have his bike ready to ride in the Australian Centenary Rally in April.

Can anyone provide the above information for Peter? - the information is required urgently as Peter wishes to complete the restoration so he can ride the bike in the Centenary Rally in April.

Hi Peter (and Alwyn),
I have just checked through the sample spokes that we hold and the details are as follows (all lengths are measured from inside of bend to end of spoke):
                      27113             8-3/4" x  80 degree
                      27114             6-1/2" x  80 degree
                      37944             8-3/4" x 100 degree
                      37945             6-1/4" x 100 degree

                      27022             8-3/8" x  80 degree
                      27023             8-3/8" x 100 degree
                      37946             8-1/4"    x  90 degree   ***

           All spokes are 9g.

Regarding the offsets for the wheels:

Rear wheel - from speedo drive end of hub to centre of rim is 3" ***
Front wheel - from face of brake drum to centre of rim is 1-5/16"*** (face of brake drum lines up with side of original WM2 rim)

*** these dimensions were taken from my own wheels as we do not have any official sizes/dimensions for them.

Hopefully this will help with your restoration,
                               Regards,
                                      Eddie.

Hi Eddie and Alwyn
I am most grateful for your response to my query. I have emailed the info to my "wheel man" and despatched the wheels today for lacing. I am fairly confident of being ready for the Centenary Rally.
Once again thanks heaps.
Peter
