Bulb horn - mid twenties
« on: 20 Nov 2006 at 01:10 »
Anyone know of a source for replica bulb horns similar to Lucas style ? I want to get one for my OC - from pictures I think that is the type of horn it would have had originally.

Alternatively if you have a real one for sale would be interested !!

Ian, try e-bay, if you type in BULB HORN you will get a list of various types, you may be lucky first time or may have to check regularly.
I picked up a super one for my EW, cost me £45.

Ron Farthing in the UK sells a replica P&H bulb horn, which Douglas was fitting through the mid to late twenties. He had an online catalog at http://ronfarthing.co.uk, but that portion of the website seems to be absent at the moment. But there is contact info.

Ref. Ron Farthing, he has recently moved from Othery, not sure wether he is still trading as he had a sale before he left.

According to the website, he is still selling bikes. Of course the site could be out of date. It is just the replica parts side that seems to have gone missing.  Perhaps he has quit the repro part business, but he must have been buying them from somewhere. Also, there are likely others that would be carrying the same item, I would think. Needs a report from the field, who haunts the UK autojumbles?
