I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

Does anyone know if there is a publication similar to "Classic Bike" that is only concerned with Vintage bikes?

I've always enjoyed "The Classic Motor Cycle"    http://www.classicmotorcycle.co.uk/   It seems to cover just about anything prior to 1972. I believe it is an evolution of the old "The Motor Cycle" but that was all long before my time. It's where I saw my very first photo of a Douglas motorcycle, sparking a recollection of a long-forgotten conversation with my late father. That's why I now have my T35. Everything else on the stands in that genre these days seems to be catering to a younger demographic where anything over 10 years old has some nostalgic value for the magazine-buying public.

I guess one can never be too young to be an old fart at heart.

Thanks for the link David , I'll have a look. I have a stack of Classic Bike mags , just a tad tired of Dominators and Bonnevilles in all their states of disrepair or concours condition.

cheers Michael

P.S. just checked out your link David , It said :

Old Bike - No longer published

Old Bike Magazine was published quarterly between Spring 1992 - Winter 1999/2000. It has since ceased publication, but its founder and editor, Ken Hallworth can be found today within Classic MotorCycle Magazine every month.

Old Bike Magazine was for the pre-1950's motor cycle enthusiast and featured classic features on vintage machines, news on restoration and much more.

We have very limited numbers of Old Bike in our stocks, so don't delay with finding the issue you need.

- So I'll look at the back issues , thanks again.
