Hi all,
I believe it's a '48 T35 rather than the later MkIII - no woffle box - looks like straight-out pipes - bet she barks!

Well the frame is part way through Mark 3 production at least, as it has the revised rear subframe design with mounting below the level of the swingarm and not above (see seventh image.) Chainguard attached to the swingarm (T35 had it attached to the subframe), and the swingarm still has the mounts for the pillion footpegs (Mark 4 onward  had them on the toolboxes.)  So a frame midway through 1948 production.  The engine is T35 (Mark 1) or at least the cylinders and heads are.  Anyone inquring should get the frame and engine codes to get a possitive dating.  It could be a factory replacment frame, they were replacing them under warrenty as frame fractures were a problem.  So not necessarily a bitza, but caution required.

Agree with Doug. Cycle parts appear to be MkIII. Toolbox, front guard. headlight (MkI = 6in) in addition to Dougs comments all point to MkIII.
I would suggest its a MkIII retrofitted with MkI engine. Numbers would confirm

Douglas 350cc.

The engine number of this machine 2930 indicates it was one of a batch of 16 remaining T35 (Mark 1) models sent from the factory to STARKLE and VOCKLE of BASLE on 5th May 1948. This particular batch included machine number 2976 which was the last recorded T35 model. The new series of the Mark 3 models commenced in June 1948 with machine number 4001. The later T35 machines did have the modified rear subframe. The frame number of 2805 also indicates a T35 model. The toolbox if flat sided each end is again T35 with the Mark 3 having slightly domed ends. The fuel tank if T35 would have had only one fuel tap outlet with the fuel pipe being split to each carburettor. Both the Mark 1 and 3 had the single fastening at nose of tank.  The front mudguard stay is missing although it was normal for a Mark 3 machine having just the one as shown in photo. The rear mudguard although not shown in detail would have had a detachable portion to enable easy removal of rear wheel. Discontinued for Mark 3 and onwards. All in all, I think machine has original frame and engine but over the years different or modified cycle parts have been added or changed. Cast alloy woffle box silencer would have been fitted. Definitely not original factory colour scheme.. Reg.

true my mk 1 has swingarm attachment i think a few early pictures of mk1 have thrown a lot of people out. As i think only a few came out with rear subframe mount and im not sure mk1s had the valanced mudgaurd either as i have never seen an advertising pic with the deep valances maybye reg could comment
