I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

A while ago I put out an appeal to see if there were any Douglas engineers out there who might be able to sort out my EW but there didn't seem to be anyone at that time. So, I thought I should try again just in case someone has emerged onto the scene?

Idleally I'd like to find a retired engineer who's looking for some project work and ideally they would live not a million miles from the south west. If there isn't a Douglas engineer out there then I'd be happy to find a general engineer who is familiar with old bikes. If I can't find anyone then I'll have to sell the EW.

The engine has a slight knock which may or may not be a problem. I also have a flat tank 350 Enfield which needs a small amount of engineer work.

Thanks in advance - Dave

Thanks for the response Clive and for those who contacted me off forum. I have a couple of phone numbers and will report back with progress. I really don't want to sell her!
