T35 1948 ?

Bought recently a T35/s  engine/frameno. 4448
please can somebody let me know more re. my bike

    This machine is a Mklll and was made in 1948 as you guessed. The Mk lll and the sports version MklllS are considered by many to be the nicest of the Mk series. Chris.

Hi,
      If your frame and engine have a number with a /3 suffix, it is a standard Mark 3 - if the suffix is /S, then it is a Mark 3 Sports (the fastest 350 production machine at that time!)

Hi Kenneth,
                   Heard from you earlier with your machine details. Your Mark 3 Douglas with engine /frame number 4448 was in fact a Mark 3 Sports so in fact should be stamped as Eddie says T35/S/448/S, sent to AB Motor Services in Sweden (Stockholm?) on 24.8.1948 and was one of a batch of 14 such models sent.

Welcome to the World of Douglas!

I too have a Mark 3 Sports (1949) which my father gave to me.  The Mk 3 Sports was the fastest 350 of its day & is a nice machine to ride.  I'm afraid I'm still learning myself about some aspects of Douglas but would be pleased to help if I can.  Failing that I can ask Dad but I'm sure there are many others who can help/advise also here on this forum.

Nice to see a picture of another T35
Really like that passengerseat,was that standard or option then.
I miss some parts that i have to produce myself.
Frontsprocketguard,batteryholder,lid to bags.
Could not find orginal parts.

Hi,

Passenger seat I's not sure if it is supposed to have one - don't think I've seen one like that except on mine.  It was originally put on by my dad (back to the shed Eric - Northern News) as I went most places on the back of the bike.  It was originally owned by my dad & then passed on to me when I passed my bike test.  The seat I've seen at autojumbles for about £30.  The front saddle is a large saddle.  Makes riding the bike seem like sitting in your armchair.

The toolboxes are home made - dad couldn't find any (and I've never seen any for sale).  They are slightly larger than the original ones but you can now fit your sandwiches in without squashing them!

Am not sure about the battery case - it may be homemade too.  However I have seem them for sale again at the autojumbles here.  You can also get the black battery boxes also.
