Hi,

I think you are correct - it is a 90 Plus.  From the way the tank if differently painted, I think this may be a works racer.  Don't know who is riding the machine though.

Hi,
     This looks very much like Franz Pados on the works development racer. It is probably quite an early photo as the bike is fitted with a 'standard' plus engine, rather than the large finned motor that featured hairpin valve springs, etc. Luckily this bike still exists and has been restored to it's original condition by an LDMCC member in the Bristol area.

Calgary recently lost two stalwarts of the automotive community: Franz Pados died Feb. 6; and Bill McNaughton died Feb. 26 in California.

Pados sold British and German motorcycles and scooters in Calgary in the early 1950s, and eventually owned Pados Volkswagen on Macleod Trail, where he also held the Porsche franchise. In 1974, he opened a BMW auto dealership, further south on Macleod Trail. In later years, he was a consultant to the Alberta government on transportation issues.
