Spokes 11 gauge?

Me again!! Can't seem to find spokes for the front wheel of my TS project.
Two questions please:

1. Am I correct that the spokes should be 11 gauge? I've measured a rear one at 2.97mm but have no original front ones to measure.

2. Is there a supplier out there for spokes to suit? Preferably galvanised as I'm painting them black.

Just read a thread from Chris, from 2006,  stating 11 gauge was unavailable. Is this still the case and by the sound of it, I'll need to go to 12 gauge being the closest fit?

When I posted that 11 gauge spokes were not available I was only referring to the main UK suppliers of spokes. I have since seen a later message suggesting that these were available from a supplier in Australia. I have not followed up on this.  On all of my restorations of 2.3/4 hp models I have used 12 gauge spokes with no problems. However, on one machine on which I later attached a sidecar I started to experience spoke breakages and as result rebuilt all three wheels with 10 gauge spokes. No problems since. This situation is not unexpected as the loading on spokes forced to remain vertical while the bike is cornering is obviously much greater than when the spokes remain in line with the angle of banking. I find these guys very easy, cheap and helpful:

They have all sizes, including unusual sizes like 11g and 13g, and do steel, stainless and pre-finished (e.g. black). Best to state exactly what you want - length is measured from the inside of the spoke elbow to the end of the spoke. 90 degree is OK for both inners and outers for a veteran/TS wheel. They deal on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/laloma123 , and on the occasions I have used them will just list your (custom) spokes on ebay and you buy them in the usual way. They also supply nipples, but typically only one barrel size for each gauge.

One of the few areas of restoration that has got easier!
