I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

AUCTION RESULT

Highest Bid: GBP 3,250.00
Auction Ends: 12-Jul-09 21:38:41 BST
Item Location: Durham, Durham, United Kingdom
History: 5 bids
Seller: broomparky
Seller's Description:

Douglas Mk 5 1951.

An older restoration but in very good condition. Not been used for quite a few years and being sold on behalf of friend who does not have internet access. The rims and tyres were new and show hardly any sign of deterioration. The Exhaust system was new stainless steel. The engine starts easily and runs well no smoke or knocks.

It appears to be as near original as you can find. The paintwork is fine with a couple of scratches caused by storage. All lights work but the battery is still the original Exide solid rubber job and will need scooping out to drop a modern one in. No reason why it shouldn't pass an MOT. All the bearings, steering wheels and suspension appear unworn.

There is also a pair of original crash bars (not fitted but will come with the bike). I would say that with fresh engine and gearbox oil, a new battery and a quick check over the nuts and bolts it would be ready to ride. There is a V5 and the number is transferable, an original owners manual and spares list.

Please no overseas bidders.

No Paypal except for deposit.

Cash on collection from Durham City which is in the North East of England.
