Having just purchased a 1955 Dragonfly ,the clutch is really heavy,engine starts fine and can engage gear if i adjust beyond free play at lever .The machine has been standing for a year in a workshop ,could it have seized on the gearbox coupling .I am going to remove engine gearbox unit to investigate,but any advice very welcome. A dry clutch release cam and the three rollers it rides on can add significantly to the effort of operating the clutch. Just a little oil is needed, aerosol type works well. You do want to be sparing with it so as not to also end up lubricating the clutch plate!

I have oiled the bearings and greased the nipple by the cable adjuster,also taped lever in overnight .No joy so far
So when back from next weeks trip I will take whole unit out and inspect .Previous owner advised this.Rather than ride and damage something.Many thanks for advice. Nigel. Neyland Pembs.

Have you tried oiling the clutch cable? It made a big difference for me.
