Title: EW 1926
Post by: PhilEW on 13 Apr 2020 at 06:31
Hello,

I am french and i recently bought this 1926 EW. It has been restored some years ago keeping its original patina when possible and is running. I only started it, but did not ride it since.

I am only the third owner since 1926. It is not completely original, but keeps traces of its former life. I find it very beautiful as well, that's what made me want to buy it.

Welcome on the forum.  I am from Lyon or nearby.
I hope your bike work and you don't find any trouble. The one I got was also supposed to be trouble free and I am neck dip in problems since I had it...
Slowly emerging, hopefully!?

Sorry, I did not see your replies.
The bike works, but I need to get used to it, I've never used such an old bike.
This morning, I drove a little, the engine works well, but it was difficult to use the gearbox well.
She also smokes a lot.
I make additionnal pictures as soon as possible.

What do you mean about the gear box?

The first gear is engaging well, but for 2 and 3, it is difficult, with false neutrals.

Check for slop in the pivot points in the gear linkage, it sounds like the rod is not moving the gear mechanism enough to engage the higher gears properly

Now it goes well, with no more problem with the gears after setting the gear linkage. I also needed to get used to this bike.

You can see the bike running here:
