Title: Mk/+ series gearbox sprocket clearance.
Post by: giz.neal on 30 Apr 2018 at 07:44
Gents,

Fitting a 90+ engine/gearbox to a Mk 5 Frame. I dry built the machine over last year, understanding that the larger sprocket size for the 90+ might cause a problem with regard to the swing arm mount etc. Upon dry build I had all of the clearance I needed but after paint it's closed right up. I've cleaned out the mounts to make sure that there is no paint etc. but this is not enough to gain a comfortable clearance. Any ideas? what sort of clearance should I have between my 17 tooth sprocket and the swing arm? Could I successfully use the smaller Mk series sprocket chain combination?

Steve,
there is even on a Plus frame not much space for the sprocket.
I do not know, what you have made to make a sprocket fit to a MK frame.
May be it is the easiest to use the MK sprocket / chain (1/2 x 5/16), possibly an "extra strong" chain?
