Title: Motorcyle history
Post by: digcot65 on 11 Apr 2018 at 08:00
Morning, my MK5 was built in 1951 and is registered as a historic vehicle. On the V5 is states first registered in this country in 1991.So it looks as though it has been imported. Is it possible to find out the history of the bike, when I contacted DVLA it is only possible if you have a legitimate reason for finding the history? It is always interesting to know this especially with it being registered in 1991.Len

Len,
Your bike is listed in the LDMCC machine register - it first showed in the 1993 edition, and the registration number quoted would appear to be an 'age related' number. From that, I would guess that it once wore a desirable number that a previous owner transferred to another vehicle. If you enrolled as an LDMCC member, the Club would be able to consult the factory despatch records and furnish you with details of the date of despatch from the factory, and the dealer it went to.

  Regards,
                Eddie.
