And a happy and prosperous new year to all from me in wet Sydney! The rain is a very welcome sight indeed in the midst of a prolonged drought - and will probably be welcomed by English cricket fans too - if the 5th test gets washed out, they will return home only 4-nil down!
I wish I could report using my Douglas to see in the new year, but after getting my appendix removed late on Christmas Eve, I can't kick start or push a bike for at least 6 weeks! In the meantime I'm making up some sleeves to fit modern bearings to the rear wheel of the 1914 3 1/2hp outfit, after the wheel collapsed on the last run I uesd it. I'll be busy over the next few months getting all the machines ready for the Centenary rally, so plenty to do yet.
Cheers, Graeme

Best wishes and a safe motorcycling New Year to all. With a lull in our lately atrocious weather having woken to sunshine and a clear blue sky, although cold, this morning the 1st of January 2007, I am pleased to report that I was also encouraged to make the first run of the season. I rode up to London on my TS23 model (in period costume) where I and the machine were photographed by the huge crowds on Westminster Bridge with Big Ben in the background just before the start of the Annual London Parade. I was fortunate to have returned home before heavy rain recommenced. Chris.
