Title: EW Clutch

I have received the following email from a member in Oz:-

"On behalf of my partner here in Oz  I would like to know the maximum thickness of the clutch plate on a 1927 EW600. I am planning to have new material bonded to the , I think it is described as the driven plate. Thanks sorry I couldn't make the forum work for me. Ian Dawson".

I have found the following post of the Forum about the 350 clutch. Can any one confirm if both the 350 and 600 clutches are the same

The 600EW clutch is larger diameter than the 350 EW. The 600 uses a pin drive pressure plate, and 350 drives the pressure plate via a tang washer. I think though, all the flywheel clutches 1923 through 1938 that used Ferodo material (vs. cork) used the same thickness material; about 4mm if I remember correctly.

Hi Doug

The other posting I attached a link to said:-

"I just measured mine, which has only done a couple of hundred miles since it was relined. The total thickness is 8.5mm. That's 2mm of spring steel with 3.25mm of friction material on both sides."

So it looks as if we are in the same ball park.
