Hello, I wondered if any forum members could offer me some advice regarding my 1920 Douglas motorcycle.
I inherited the bike around 12 years ago and had intended to restore it but have not managed to find the time, so i'm thinking of selling it but I don't know (roughly) what valuation to put on it. The bike is is in original condition and mostly complete. Any information would be gratefully appreciated, thanks.
Lovely bike. Don't hurry into restoring it because in the current market it is likely worth more "as is".
There are a number of features on your 2 3/4 that make it look earlier than 1920 - 1915 would be a possible date but many Douglas motorcycles of WW1 period were a little mixed when they were serviced during the war and then sold off after.
Check the engine and frame numbers against the lists on the "Identifying Douglas Motorcycles" part of this forum and see what you come up with. Unfortunately the frame is almost certainly post 1914 which makes the bike ineligible for the Pioneer Run, but let's see what the numbers say.
Cheers
Leon
