Title: ID time
Post by: AndrewM on 18 Mar 2011 at 01:56
HI all
I am new to this forum, and have reciently aquired the frame of a 20's Douglas advertised as a 1925 TS. The frame numbe is 62051 (as per picture) could someone please tell me if this is the correct date ? And if so what enging/gear box would suit if possible.

Andrew

Andrew,

As you can see in this post also in the reference section:

https://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/aa-files/html/identify-part1/veteran3.3.htm

the frame for a 1925 would run from 'about' 74501-84200. You frame probably dates to late 1923. Engine and gearbox would have serial numbers within a few hundred of the frame number.

Thanks Doug
I should have read further and saved you the time, but nice to have it confirmed.  We normally restore vintage Chev's of the 20's but always wanted a bike and not just any bike but a Douglas of course. I know i am starting behind with this project but that's what i do.  So any assistance is greatfully appreciated.
Yours Andrew
