Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Hi Hampshirebiker would like copy of post war engines and any comments on reducing the exhaust sound on my mk v as the two standard silencers don't do much. Regards Phil 1.

Hampshirebiker

PM me your email address & I'll send you a copy. Re the exhaust, try to get hold of an underslung "waffle box" & pipes.

phil1

Hi Hampshirebiker thought might try some 1mm, perforated sheet from ebay make cylindrical tube to slip inside pipe to silencers. Regards. Phil 1.   phil1castle@virginmedia.com

Gents,

There are a number of replica part suppliers providing additional quietening materials including formed inserts for silencers. Have a look on line.

Hi All, I have found a significant improvement in reducing exhaust noise by inserting a twelve inch length of one mm thick steel mesh rolled to fit inside pipe and silencer available on line. Cheers Phil 1.
