Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

A 4hp (600cc) side valve machine petrol tank; these were sold as sidecar machines and are less common than the 2-3/4hp models.  The petrol tank looks like the 2-3/4hp, but note no oil compartment as the oil was in the engine sump on the 4hp.  The oval tunnel in the front left corner is for the oil sight glass.  The oil was pumped up from the engine, dripped through the sight glass, and then gravity feed to the engine.  The 4hp spares book list these tanks as being used from 1917 through 1922.

Can anyone identify this Douglas Petrol tank?
I think it might be for a sprinter or possibly a TT?
I would like to sell it. Many thanks, Carl

Carl.
Hi, I was wondering if you still have the 4HP Douglas tank. I have a 1921 4hp Douglas that has a remanufactured tank, but it is not quite correct and easily picked up as a repro. Would be intereted if you still have it. RegardsĀ  Nev
