Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Folks, the rally will be run out of the Moss Vale Village Caravan Park - which is the centre for many rallies in this area. While there is a lot of accommodation in the local vicinity, if you want to stay at the hub you had better get in quickly. The rally is being held in school holiday period so I would suggest you book now. I was there last weekend for the National Ariel Rally and talked with the park operators. At that stage they had no bookings but I know of at least two now (me included). I have scanned in the brochure - but for those who don't need that the contact number is 02 4868 1099 (or international +61 2 4868 1099)

Please note that the web address for the Caravan Park shown on the brochure is dysfunctional - the site is currently under reconstruction. As soon as they are back online we will publish the new address.

The MVVCP website is now up and running again at << http://www.mossvalevillagecaravanpark.com.au/ >>
Make your reservation soon as bookings for the rally period are mounting - don't be disappointed! Bookings are being pencilled - no deposit required until January/February 2007.

Hi Ian

What is the actual date for the Rally?  There are a lot of other events already organised for 2007, including Easter, so dates are critical.

For an international rally there does not seem to be much time left for people to get organised, so quite specific simple details would be appreciated - the usual things: entry form; cost of registration (rather than seeking a pre-entry deposit); tick the boxes on the entry form for what is to be offered (rally dinner, meals, video of rally, other regalia, etc.); if details are provided about accommodation, rally participants will make their own arrangements - like your good advice about accommodation at the hub.

I have publicised the rally in our club magazine and written to you with a list of a few other people who want to attand - but no one has recieved any feedback - if we were sent an entry form many would simply fill it out, include a cheque and look forward to attending the rally - but given the lack of hard information, some have asked me if the rally is still being held - there are a lot of keen participants who do not use the internet and have a high expectation that something will arrive via snail mail.  Another small point - I have been asked who is organising the rally and their relationship with the vintage/classic motorcycle movement, but other than first names, there is little detail available.

I certainly hope all is going well with organising the rally and look forward to attending on a CW.

Jim, all the details for the rally are on the special website we have publicised. Most details are also in the various posts on this forum.

http://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/austcentenaryrally/index.html

You can print off the registration form from the Registration Form tab. Dates are 18-21 April. We are taking pre-registrations with a deposit at the moment as per most rallies (eg national veteran rally) and will do final entry forms with all the details in about September timeframe. We need the pre-registrations to cover initial costs. Rally is being run through the CEMCC as per the entry form. Am happy to give you names of the organising committee if you send me a private message.

As you can imaging there is lots to do but most details are finalised.

BTW I did write an email back to you but it got bounced - has your email address changed since you sent me the note ?
