Can anyone supply a close up view of them.
Online views look a bit distant and fuzzy.

They look a bit like featherbed items, but without a better view this looks like a gamble.
Surprising that some of the stainless merchants don't offer them ?

Quote from: phil smith on 05 Oct 2025 at 12:35 hi folks.
I have just joined and have 1920/21 project for sale.
Originally it was a project to be a joint venture with my Pa, long since departed.
At present I have not mastered the art of posting pictures,so if any one would like pictures they can be e mailed on request.
It would be a great project for an enthusiast.
On the next post I ll have a bash at loading pictures ,thanks for being patient.
Cheerz.

General Douglas Discussion / Re: MkV Oil pump and filter

Thanks Eddie. I have new spare gaskets that I got with the bike. Maybe the previous owner couldn't get the pump out, that's why it's there. Going on holiday for a week so I'll get to it when I return. Much appreciated advice

Hi Peter,

I sent you a PM with my email address. Let me know if you received it. If you reach out I can share photos of the medallions I have available.

Paul,
While you have the pump out, remove the circlip and take the gauze strainer off to give it a wash. As I have said, it is only a strainer, and not really a filter, so washing it in situ may push foreign bodies into the pump. When you are ready to replace the pump, the thicker (cork) gasket goes between the pump body and crankcase - the thinner (paper) gasket goes between the pump body and the end plate, controlling the end clearance on the pump rotor and vanes. My personal preference is to just smear the gaskets with grease on assembly, rather than use gasket compound.
  Hope this helps,
                           Eddie.

General Douglas Discussion / MkV Oil pump and filter
Last post by Pallijen15 - 12 Oct 2025 at 16:52
Hi, on my 1951 Douglas MkV I have just taken out the oil pump and am about to change the oil. The oil pump was a little difficult to remove at first but there was no Cork gasket between the pump and crankcase, only a thin paper washer. Can the filter be cleaned or should I buy a new one? Please advise me of anything else I should do whilst I have the filter and pump out. I don't think it's been out for a very long time. Thanks, Paul Jensen

General Douglas Discussion / MK4 chain adjuster

My MK4 restoration continues and is going well but the more I look the more I see (or don't see!).  Comparing my bike with the parts manual I see that there are no chain adjusters fitted to the bike (part number (SA 2455) and the part does not appear as available on the LDMCC post-war spares list.  Any ideas for an ersatz/replacement part?  E.g Triumph, Norton, BSA?

Many thanks in advance.

Can anyone recommend an engine builder for my Douglas 80Plus? Ideally in the Wiltshire area (but I could ship anywhere). I lack the skills to put it back together reliably and oil tight.
Thanks
