Tapping into your vast knowledge ?
« on: 28 Oct 2021 at 03:36 »
Hi Guys,
Like all racers I'm sure the early Dirt Tracker boys and girls modified their rides to suit their needs.
I have some asymmetric handlebars from a DT that have been cut into 3 pieces, and the question is should the longer handle be on the right or left?
50/50 choice but...
Was it a personal preference or x factory ?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

The LH handlebar on speedway machines is often cranked up a bit to clear the riders leg, but in the old leg-trailing days I doubt this would have been necessary? As far as length goes, maybe longer on the RH side to clear the riders leg? And the bars from the factory were the same each side as far as I am aware

Cheers, Graeme
