Or, I did a TAFE course to get basic metalworking repair skills.
To repair a few guards and tanks - that weren't beyond it.
If they are too far gone, a really skilled man could likely bring it back to life.
Find your local vintage club and see who they use. (car or motorcycle).
Anyone who can revive a Model T will likely know someone...
At a pinch, you can even fibreglass or solder over the bad bits, and slosh a tank sealing kit inside.
It won't look flash, unless you work at it, but it will look the part until you find a good one...
