80 Plus Tinware Colour
« on: 27 Mar 2018 at 16:24 »
Hi All
Could someone answer my queries below please?
What is the paint code for the 80 plus maroon?
Did any machines come with maroon in the centre of the wheel rims?
Was the tinware stove enamelled or painted with cellulose?
Many thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

Maroon is the same colour used by Ford.
Please try:

 FORD EUROPE
Farbcode : AZ
Farbton : IMPERIAL MAROON
von-bis : 1959-1965 - bei Ford -
Number : 38339 -  (colour by Standox )

You can also to find the colour by  Ditzler

I think on early +80 the centers of the rims were also maroon (lined black?)

Thanks, Michael
That sounds good.
I like the idea of the rim centres in maroon, like my Triumph Speed Twin, that was lined in gold on amaranth red. Black lining does not sound so appealing.
I'll have to look at a few examples of the 80+

Dave,

I own a very early 90+, this is has gold finish and black lining.
On the old Douglas advertisment drawings for 80+ (in a Douglas book) I can really recocnize the black lining, but it seems so?
