Kevin,
On the Dragonfly, there were early and late type gearboxes, and the kickstart shafts were different. Only SA796 was listed in the spare parts book, but the other one was part number SA1826. On the early gearbox, the oil filler plug was set too low, so an adaptor was fitted to raise the level about 1/2". On the later 'boxes the boss for the filler plug was raised and moulded into the front of the boss for the kickstart. This also had the effect of bracing the kicksart boss - thus preventing fractures that were not uncommon on the earlier 'boxes.
If you just quoted the number in the spares book, you may have requested the wrong part - quoting the gearbox number would help the spares department in selecting the correct shaft.

  Regards,
               Eddie.

Hi Eddie.
Thank you for your reply think my gearbox is one of the later ones with the number 2132\6 but i still think the guys at the LDMCC will not be able to help me as they say that they only have mark spindles and not Dragonfly ones, but i will e-mail them with my gearbox number and see what they say.
thanks again for the reply.

Kevin..

Hi Kevin,
Yes, yours is a late type 'box.

It should be - the change over point was somewhere in the 1200's.
