I have my crankshaft in bits right now...26, ew
the oilways, I have the screws out and have drilled out the charcoal inside...is there anything that will dissolve the burnt oil in the rod race pins...I have excavated down to where I think the threads start...but now need to do a right angle to get the oil way clean...
is there anything that will dissolve the hardened oil??
I don't want to remove the crank pins...they are staked in place
if I cant get these oilways clear...I may have to drill a hole through the face of the crank into the oil drilling to feed my rods..1/64?
I bought 5/16 rollers off ebay and have the races ready to harden tomorrow...
I found also that valves from an MGB will work as well..the head is the same size...the stems are bigger but are tight enough that the original guides just need a ream
I just need to cut them off and cut in the cotter rebate
