I am restoring a 1927 EW 350 have noticed on engine number stamping it has a C stamped above it and the the gearbox is RG/C,does this stand for competition,if so what type as in trials, off road etc.

RG/C denotes the change to the gear case mounting to clamp around the frame tubes, introduced for the 1927 models. Revisions to the basic RG prefix gearbox went from RG/A through RG/L.
C/YE denotes an EW engine with detachable heads. Generally known as the "Sport" model.
