EW Cush drive assembly
« on: 06 Jan 2013 at 11:47 »
On my 1926 EW rebuild (before I start to make some heath Robinson tool involving some G clamp purchases) have I missed an easy way to compress the cush drive springs into their housings and cups, so that I can put the tab washer in place on top of the splined cam housing and start the securing nut on its threads?  :?

Hi TCK,
I have recently been down the same road and the only sensible way forward is to create a compression device. I found it impossible to line up the spring housings, compress the six springs and start the ring nut by hand.
Good luck.
Andy

Not a great fan of the Home Base paint emporium but 2 packs of small g clamps @ £10 and the middle No 2 size one each side and the job was done!
