Douglas Transfers
« on: 25 Jun 2008 at 10:15 »
Greetings,
I'm in the throws or re-restoring my 1925 TS which has been sitting in a museum for the last ten years. Last restored when I was 15, now 50.
Can anyone tell me where I can get transfers applicable to the year. Tank ones I have.
Also, does anyone know where one can source correct tube to make rear stand. Mine has more weld than steel!
Cheers

Hi Chester,
Welcome to the forum. The transfers you require are available from the London Douglas Motor cycle Club, but you need to be a member to access their services. Regarding the correct section tube for the rear stand: if this is of oval section, it can be produced by running round tube through a set of rolls - i.e. a swager or similar, to generate the required section. Several Club members have done this successfully in the past.
Also, if you include your location in your login details, you will probably get better assistance that is more relevant to the country in which you live - at the moment you could be anywhere in the world!
            Good luck with the restoration,
                                      Regards,
                                                Eddie.
