Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

'All Unread Posts' is the most reliable option. It takes the date and time of your last visit and reads the database for everything posted since.

The other two options 'Unread replies to your Posts' and 'Unread posts since last visit' use the cookie saved by your browser and your recent session data saved on the server, to calculate what to display.

If either the cookie or the session data gets out of whack for some reason, that calculation can be wrong.

To correct it, you can try deleting the browser cookies, or just the douglasmotorcycles.net cookie if your browser allows deletion of individual cookies. That usually fixes it.

Since we moved to this new website, I have been comparing the results of 'Unread posts since last visit' and 'All Unread Posts' every time I visit. So far they have always been the same. So deleting the browser cookies will probably get things working properly again for you.

Hi Ian,

Looking at the Recent Posts menu, what appears when you choose the last option 'All Unread Posts'?

I have realised that I am not seeing new posts - I select the "show unread posts since last visit" and it says nothing there. I then look at recent posts and there are heaps since I last checked.

General Douglas Discussion / WG gearbox assembly
Last post by Martin T6 - Yesterday at 21:11
Hi All  I'm having problem with my Douglas T6 3 speed WG gearbox I'm having problems getting all three gears I've tried the adjuster process but only get 1st and 2nd but no 3rd or no 1st but 2nd and 3rd is there a detailed drawing of the gearbox assembly I have an owner's manual but it's very limited.
So far I've found various things missing like the selector ballbearing and spring on the main shaft all the wood ruff keys shered , so my plan of attack is to start from scratch but need more information on what should be there and what order but more importantly was isn't there .
Hope this all makes sense .
Many thanks Martin T6
