Douglas Pictures found in treasure trove
« on: 22 Mar 2016 at 09:12 »
I have been looking at a site with thousands of wonderful motorcycle photos (poorly identified and all years mixed together it must be said) there are 5000+ photos I have got to page  number 400 and finally found some Douglas in a set
the best one for me is a very detailed ridged trial douglas with a crossover high level pipe halfway down the page.

there will be others especially in the TT pictures let us know

And what pray is the story on this one- supercharged.....

The supercharged machine was built by C.T. Atkins; it was written up in the 26Feb36 issue of Motor Cycling. Atkins had been chief of the experimental Engineering department at Douglas for several years (according to the article) in the early-mid thirties before leaving to set up his own design and tuning business High Efficiency Motors Ltd. Where he built this special to try out his ideas on supercharging.
