2 3/4 con rod orientation question
« on: 11 Jan 2016 at 20:09 »
As you sit on the bike (in this case a 1913) and look down at the engine, does it matter if the left rod or right rod goes to the front cylinder?  When I dismantled mine the left rod (closest to the flywheel) went to the front cylinder.  I don't want to ASSUME this was the factory as built configuration.  I think the motor is mirror image and the con rod orientation should not matter but I don't want to have an "oh shit" moment based on my inexperience with these machines.  As always, thanks for sharing your knowledge with the less fortunate.  LOL!
