Spark Plug Info Please
« on: 17 Aug 2007 at 22:23 »
Mk 1 T35 now running BUT spends quite a bit of the time running on one cylinder due to no spark at plug change plug and runs fine till next time could be just a matter of a few miles before one cylinder again and not necessarily the same as before. I am sure this is a matter of not using the right plug.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE INFORM ME THE CORRECT PLUG FOR A 1947 Mk1 T35

Thanks

Matt

Matt,
Most riders of later Marks and Dragonflies seem to get good results from NGK B7HS plugs. Since the introduction of unleaded fuel here in the UK, we have found that some readjustment of the carburation may be necessary. In my case, I have gone up 10 on the main jets, reduced the slide cutaway by about ½ (3½ instead of 4) and then compensated by fitting the needle clip in the top groove. If  the plug that fail shows black/oily and then works OK after cleaning, I would try one grade softer, so that it runs a little hotter.
                                  Good luck,
                                        Regards,
                                                   Eddie.
